When looking for your next Border Terrier companion make sure you ask some questions that may present red flags.
- Is your dog completely health checked?( Chic numbers are preferred and great to have. Borders should have their petellas, hips, eyes, heart, and brucellosis.)
- How old is the Dam?( Under 2 years old is a puppy mill breeder)
- Provide proof( ask for a detailed pedigree, with birth dates, health clearances and titles.)
- Do you show or do agility?(Just to see if the dogs are tended to and get to do something, not just raised as products)
- What titles do the Sire and Dam have?( I like to breed from Champions to show they are quality)
- Are your dogs raised in your home?( not a garage, not outside)
- Can I meet the puppies prior?( It is important to see the lifestyle of the breeder. Dogs that are raised in crates and live in crates are not typically the ideal companion)
